71st Independence Day Celebration

FIESTA OF FREEDOM

Independence Day at Amity

May the Sun in his course, visit no land more free,
More happy, more lovely, than this, our country –
Let us salute that country, our Motherland, on this auspicious day.

Independence day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at Amity School, Bharuch. The ceremony started at 8 am, with a huge crowd of staff, students and invitees. Dr. Mahendra bhai Panchal, MBBS, MS, BJ Medical College, Trustee, Ankleshwar Educational Trust, the Chief Guest and Dr. Mrs. Rekhaben Panchal, MBBS, DA, an educationist by heart, were escorted ceremonially by the students’ representatives and the colourful band.

To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Chief Guest unfurled the tricolour and all sang the national anthem in unison, to express the joy of freedom Dr. Panchal and all esteemed members of the programme were heartily welcomed by the Principal, GSEB section, to the occasion. The students’ choir group of the CBSE section and Amity B.Ed. college, sang patriotic songs full of zest and vigour and aroused everyone to move forward with bold steps against all odds and make a new India.  Dr. Mahendrabhai Panchal enlightened the journey of India through the period of British bondage, achievement of independence and making India as one and united. He expressed his happiness to see that today’s youth think of freedom despite all hurdles of the competitive world. He also told everyone to imbibe the same spirit within our heart and soul. In his view, true freedom means when we make our country corruption free.

Campus Director of Amity, Prakash Mehta presented a report on the small token of love and appreciation sent to the Jawans at the frontiers, in the form of handmade Rakhis by the students, as a gesture of patriotic tribute. The young children of GSEB, English Medium and Gujarati Medium sections presented dances, portraying the messages of ‘Satyamev Jayate’ which filled up the morning air with energy. The Managing Trustee, Ranchhod Shah took the opportunity to highlight the ways to take our country to the pinnacle of glory by the driving forces of self discipline and self assignment through the philosophy of Amity. The occasion also witnessed the formal launching of The Alumni Association of Amity, Bharuch for the ex-students of Amity, to disseminate its ideas far and wide.

The programme left the young learners inspired and motivated to become future citizens of the country. Indeed it was a day of joy, a day of love and respect towards our motherland, a day of realization that freedom is sacred and we must do everything to ensure that India becomes a better place to live.
